Coated Paper and Paperboard

Hollow sphere pigment HIQUE 2030, 2050, 2070, 2073 which are developed as a paper-coating additive are free of APEO surfactant. HIQUE 2030, 2050, 2070, 2073 are supplied as emulsion of about 1 micron in particle size, and can be easily mixed with other paper coating materials. Specific advantages of HIQUE 2030, 2050, 2070, 2073 include:


  • They provides coated paper with good surface smoothness, paper gloss, and print gloss.
  • They gives coated paper better opacity and wet pick.
  • Allow calendering to occur at lower temperatures, and therefore save energy and extend the life of the calender.
  • Because polystyrene is the main ingredient of HIQUE 2030, 2050, 2070, 2073, it remains inert during the recycling process.
 
Matt Paper Coating
Matt paper coated with Hollow Sphere Pigment is very popular with both domestic Korean and global markets, and HLC actively develops and supplies certain grades of Hollow Sphere Pigment HIQUE to the manufacturers of such paper.
 

Thermal Direct Printing Paper

Hollow pigments HIQUE 2030, 2050, 2070, 2073 are used in the manufacture of thermal direct printing papers, where they act as an insulating, undercoating layer for the paper (as shown below). In these instances, hollow pigments provide the following advantages:


  • They increase smoothness and improve opacity in thermal direct printing paper.
  • They improve printing effects.
  • They allow for higher quality and faster printing.
